ABOUT ME

You know, if you care about that stuff!

I started writing back in 2008. One night, a scene popped into my head and wouldn’t let go. I was lying in bed, staring at the ceiling, asking myself questions: Who is this person? What’s in the briefcase? Why were they killed? I couldn’t shake it.

By 2 a.m., I gave up on sleep, sat at the kitchen table, and started writing. What came out eventually became my first novel, Armour. That night sparked a passion that hasn’t faded.

Armour took me on a three-year journey. I learned how to tell a story, how to shape characters, and how to find my voice. Since then, I’ve kept the momentum going, writing more novels, a couple of novellas, plenty of short stories, and even some flash fiction. My writing desk has rarely been tidy since.

Like most writers, I’ve had my share of rejections. I kept writing anyway, always thinking the next manuscript might be the one. Over time, I connected with other indie authors who gave me the confidence to publish my work myself. In 2020, I released two books, Identity (a short story, the kernels of a serial) and Machines (a young adult/steampunk/mystery-thriller hybrid, the start of the Caddius Finch Files).

You can find out more about them, and all my other works, in the Books section.

I have degrees in Software Development and Infrastructure Engineering (but don’t use any of it). When I’m not writing in Brisbane, I’m facilitating workshops, MCing conferences, and keynote speaking all over Australia (and sometimes internationally). Please feel free to connect with me on the Facebook and other socials, or drop a line on my email. You can always leave a review wherever you find my work. I’m always keen to hear what people think; good, bad, and ugly.

Until then, keep those minds twisted
